G-code script error

Post by vdubjim » Thu Mar 21, 2019 4:36 pm

I know the tutorial says ignore the errors, but im still learning inkscape since oddly nobody has done an illustrator plug-in.

i trace the bitmap, delete the image, highlight the trace, click Apply in path to Gcode and get.....

"Warning! There are some paths in the root of the document, but not in any layer! Using bottom-most layer for them."

This matter?

Most warnings don’t matter. Inkscape does its own special metadata in inkscape style svg’s. You can avoid a lot of the errors/warnings by starting with an empty svg in Inkscape and importing images into that document instead of opening existing images or svg’s directly.

If it exported properly you can preview the gcode at ncviewer.com before sending it to the tablet. I find that to be helpful sometimes because it shows you the gcode listing and visualizes it.
