Air Force Trailer Hitch Cover

Made this today for a retired veteran.
3/8" plate on a 12 gauge backer.
Welded together at edges and welded to a 2x2 square tube then pickled for 10 minutes in HCl, neutralized in baking soda and water.
Sanded front then clear coated with Rustoleum "crystal clear enamel." Somehow some rust crept in there while the clear coat was drying, might sand blast it and try again if the "customer" isn't happy (it's for my Dad
).
Everlast 80s cutting at 50 amps, 1.2mm tip.
Slats immersed in GreenCut coolant.
3/8" Settings:
600mmpm, 200 ignite, 80 plunge, 100 cut
Cut Styles: Offsets and pierce points, 1.5mm kerf width, THC on
12 gauge settings:
1400 mmpm, 200 ignite 80 plunge, 125 cut
Cut Styles: Offsets and pierce points, 1mm kerf width, THC on
Cut the hitch pin holes in the tube on the plasma, too. Had to grind to fit a little bit, but it was my own fault.
