I’ve never been one to wait to the last minute for anything. Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to get consumables that are more cost effective? I am looking on amazon but I can’t figure out which will be ok and which ones won’t.

If you’re ordering Tips and Electrodes, you can order them from a variety of places. The thing to look for is the torch model. The handheld and CNC torches are interchangeable, but unfortunately the torches have a few model names:

Everlast 60s Torch Names

- iPT60M
- PT60

Everlast 80s Torch Names
- PTM-80
- iPT80M
- PT80

Everlast 100s Torch Names
- PTM-100
- iPT100M
- PT100

We set all of the Everlast plasma cutters at 50 amps for almost all thicknesses and only change it for extreme thicknesses like 1”. We use 1.1 size Tips. Electrodes only come in 1 size. Remember to replace both the Tip and the Electrode at the same time.

We normally use a company called PlasmaDyn to order tips and electrodes. They’re not the cheapest option, but they’re great to use and they even have an option to overnight your order if it’s placed before 4:00.

Regarding consumables, I have a 60A plasma cutter. whats the best practice, to use 60A consumables for all ampere settings? Or buy the amprage of consumable for the amp setting I’m using? For example, buy a set of 50amp consumables for 50amp cuts, 40amp for 40amp cuts. Does that make a difference in cut quality? Thanks.

Where does everyone buy their consumables from? I am looking for smaller tips. Have been buying 1.1mm tips, but looking for 1.0 for my 80s at lower amperage settings. I have bought previously from PlasmaDyn. Anyone using different size tips for different metals? If so, what are your recommendations?

Hi Ryan, are you saying these different part numbers are all the same thing? I have a PowerPlasma 80S with a hand torch on the way and need to order the CNC 'machine' torch separately, trying to track down suitable model numbers for that.

I just got some .9 from plasmadyne but even at thirty amps on my 80s its destroying them. Anything smaller than .10 and you need a smaller machine. They may be the same platform but the internal amperage are way different. Other wise they'd make a one size fits all. I can cut half inch tall letters in 10 gauge at 50 amps with .10 tips and have very little dross and moving along fairly quickly.

They work really good for thin stuff but HAVE to cut at less than 30amp. I can do this with the everlast machine, it goes down to 20amp, but Ive heard rumors that the gofab 80 cutter only goes down to 30 amp even though the digitial readout reads less.
